The Tower Of Dreams And finally after only years of sadness Beyond the land of the setting sun, Past the ages of twilight, And long past where the wolves run, Into the land of the moon, where her song is her madness, There sleep is all we see covering memories of gladness; Oh, the time of our dazzling wings As we would protect the Tower of Dreams In all its beauty and enchanted things. As we would fly the stormy seas, The seas that were never ending, And finally crash on a distant shore By the guard of the mountains in peace. And death exists no more, But no longer are the Anamyrians lending Their dreams to our souls and so we are lost, Save for that sparkling tower alone on the summit . Its twisting spires remembering the dreams That kept our souls afloat and away from the embers lit To harm our bodies, but their's were the cost Of that dreamlfilled slumber from which there is no waking. The Tower finally calmed their souls when they could resist no longer, As their eyes closed for the last time, they would shudder, Knowing there is no escape. They began to fight stronger, To no avail. They try to keep awake and then they start shaking. As the struggle finally ends and sleep blesses them for the last time, They close their eyes and are locked within. The breath of souls that are sighing was the wind. The dreams, our wings and dreams without sin, Would carry us were ever we wished; but they fell asleep too quickly that the last time. Their eyes closed in pain, not bliss. Their bodies shook in fear, not pleasure. It was all we could do to fight back the nightmares, That being the Towers evil measure, And the nightmares went on so long. Oh, the dreams we miss. So let your dreams guide you, when sleep takes you. Let your mind explore its depths, And when fear turns bliss to pain, Call on the Tower of Dreams, and climb the steps. And remember the twirling spires that confound you. |
